File Sharing

Well in the past week or two or three maybe I've investigated about 5 file sharing programs. I will attempt to give an analysis of them as they ran on my pc I will also give some information on other file sharing programs I've used in the past and well lost faith in.

My pc is:
1.3 ghz
256mb ram
40gb hd
Windows xp Pro
Amazing high speed internet connection thats like 6mb/s
All I know is that its cable and downloaded a 400mb file in 10 min :D

I know my pc isn't brand new, then again neither are brand new computers, but anyway I honestly think if a file sharing program doesnt work well on my pc then it sucks cuz you should be able to download your crap while doing other more productive things.

Limewire
Tried and tested
Pros:
Large network of virtually any file
No malware
Open Source
Was rather fast downloads
Cons:
Clunky file navigation got on my nerves.
Java program
Resource hog(because its java)
Locking up entire pc
~Verdict~
Ran well on 98 but didnt run well at all when I had to upgrade to XP it lasted a couple hours before lagging out and went seemingly unproductive. This is not good for me particularly because I download lots of large files for burning, mostly while I sleep.

Kazaa Lite K++
Tried and tested
Pros:
Large network of files
Free
No Malware
Cons:
Java
Resource hog
Slower downloads
~Verdict~
Rated same as Limewire, not worth because it makes major lag.

Kazaa Lite K++ Resurection
Tried and tested
No difference as above. Had some nice plugins (for advanced users I assume; I never stuck around to be one).

BitComet
Trying
Pros:
Easy on your resources
Used for Torrent Files
Lists of torrent file supporting sites that open inside the program
Can play mmorpg video games laglessly with it running.
Cons:
Used for Torrent Files
Seems to be for more advanced users(I'm working on joining this group)
Max download rate I've seen is 299ish kb/s
~Verdict~
Very much worth trying and learning.

Bearshare
Tried at school
Pros:
Fast
Nice file navigation.
Cons:
Popups and unwanted program runs
~Verdict~
No popups on my pc

WinMx
From along time ago
Cons:
Turned slow
Malware
~Verdict~
I should see how its doing.

Azureus
Read reviews
Pros:
Used for Torrent files
Cons:
Alleged memory leak
More Java
Meaning More Resource hog
~Verdict~
I gave up with Java after Limewire went slow

Well that's all I'll write for now. If I continue this search in the near future I'll update this and link it at the side there ->

Have a great sunday,
~Me

No malware on Limewhore? mmmm. I tried it for a while. I'm pretty sure I got trojaned from there. So I ran away and never went back.
